I've been desperately searching for more pictures to post until I get around to hitting the river again. With this year's photowalk coming up soon (I hope), I realized that I never posted anything from last year. Unfortunately I don't have much, and what I do have isn't great.
So yeah... they're not great, but it's something to post. Tell me what you think! :-)
#1: I love the fountains! They're beautiful! #2:I really like this one, and how the ducks are all lined up. #3: I'll say it again you're pictures of the water are wonderful! #4: I like snakes and this guy is really neat. #5 and 6 are just plain gorgeous! #7: Lilies are my favorite flowers! We have Stella de Ora Daylily's also. But I really like the way the sun is hitting it. #8: I especially like this duck! He's just sitting there like "Hi, I'm a loner." I like his shadow too. Anyhoo, I think they're great, and this Photowalk sounds really interesting. But if you think I plague you with too many comments, let me know and I'll slow it down a bit.
ReplyDeleteVery nice, once again. My favourites are the one below the ducks (with just the ripple reflection - the ripples are captured so well), the snake and the yellow flower. I think I like the latter two because they are sharp and catch the detail well.
ReplyDeleteThe first (fountain) one is probably my least favourite (if I'm allowed to be critical - I'm certainly no expert). I think my main problem is the way the white water kind of blurs together. Of course, its not easy (and perhaps not even possible) to capture such fast flowing water in a still frame. If there was some way to capture it so the light shone through and didn't make each fountain look like one mass of white (I mean, if it was possible to get it from an angle where the light shone through the fountain so there was more transparency, it might be more effective. But again, I know nothing about photography and it's possible that the water just flows to fast to do this. I have no idea if that made any sense. But keep up the good work. I look forward to seeing more.

Thanks for the criticism! (...that sounds weird.) It is possible... I bumped down the clarity in Lightroom on that one because I used to way overuse clarity on water pictures, and it seemed like the thing to do. I also brightened it up a bit to make it seem more solid. Also, the best way to capture that fountain the way you describe is with a camera nicer than mine. :-)
ReplyDeleteIf you want to see the one with a lot of clarity, I think I have one on Facebook. I also have one of the waterfall closeup, too.
Thank you both for your input! :-)
Very nice, Phreckle!
ReplyDeleteI'd say my favorites are the fountain and the waterfall pics. :-)
